There are two types of websites that I can make for you.

The first is a site made from a commercial template and the second is a unique, custom design, created just for you.

 

Here are the advantages and disadvantages of each:

The template site, because it already has a design, can be built quickly which often takes fewer hours of my time and therefore you may pay less for my work.

However, you will need to pay a yearly fee starting at $149 to the company that furnishes these templates. So you may pay more in the long run.

Another advantage to the template option is that it is relatively easy to edit and you may want me to help you learn how to do that.

The disadvantages to that are that although the processes are pretty easy, they can be hard to remember if you don't use them often. And I will need to charge for my time in helping you learn how to edit. I have only had 2 clients who did their own editing and they needed me to help them fairly frequently. The ones who did edits were a cafe which wanted to change menus weeklly and a fourteen year old girl who catches on quickly.

The unique custom site allows you to have whatever design you want.

We can draw up a plan for it, showing what goes where, what colors we'll use and can use your logo, pictures, collages, etc. I can help you decide.

Advantages also include a yearly fee for the domain name of only $11.95. That is the only annual charge unless you decide that you want me to make changes.

The disadvantage may be a higher initial cost although that isn't always the case.
